German based company P3 Igenieurgesellschaft mbH has set up a UK base at Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus through the Hello Northwest scheme.

P3ec Ltd (P3 engineering collaboration) is a wholly owned subsidiary of P3 Ingenieurgesellschaft MbH, which was founded in May 1996 as a spin-off from Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT. It is a national and international consultancy and engineering business with core competences in quality, process and project management.

The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and the Northwest Aerospace Alliance have been working closely with the company to understand their requirements for setting up an office in the Northwest, providing advice and support to secure their location in the region.

The Hello Northwest scheme, launched this year, has been developed through a partnership between the NWDA, investment and development agencies for the Liverpool City Region and Manchester, The Mersey Partnership and MIDAS, and leading serviced office providers.

Hello Northwest offers new overseas investors to Liverpool (Hello Liverpool), Manchester (Hello Manchester) and the Northwest (Hello Northwest), free desk space for the first 12 months of their relocation to the area as part of the region's continued drive to attract investment and jobs. The scheme will allow investors to test out ideas before a major investment.

Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive of the NWDA, said:

"The Hello Northwest scheme is proving to be very popular and I am delighted to welcome P3's location to Daresbury SIC as part of the scheme, which is a great example of the economic benefits the project can generate. Through giving overseas investors the opportunity to test what the region has to offer, it aims to build on the region's strong track record for inward investment to secure more overseas investment."

Mike Garbett, P3ec Head of Business Integration, said:

"P3ec is proud to be located and investing in the Northwest of England. We envisage our partnership with highly regarded local organisations like the North West Aerospace Alliance, Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus and the Northwest Regional Development Agency to be highly interactive, complementary and positive for all involved. P3ec very much look forward to developing our footprint in the region in all our vertical markets, while working closely with local, national and international companies."

John Leake, General Manager, Daresbury SIC said:

"P3ec Ltd's decision to locate at Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus opens up a number of exciting opportunities for the company, ranging from membership of our growing network of like-minded innovators to ready access to complementary technology markets. The Campus' links into the aerospace, automotive, advanced engineering and digital/telecommunications sectors will prove particularly valuable."

Lorraine Rogers, Chief Executive, The Mersey Partnership (TMP), said:

"The fact that P3 have been able to use the Hello soft landing scheme highlights the potential it has to bring significant economic benefits to the Liverpool City Region."
